Bill is Mindwerx International's Co-Founder, Managing Director and Chief Imagineer, mainly because of his unique ability to help companies imagine what they might become and to then assist them in achieving their vision. He is also Co-Director of the Buzan Centre:Aust/NZ, which we founded in 2001.
Bill designs and delivers most of our creative thinking programs and has spoken to thousands of people over the last fifteen years. He has consulted to all types of organisations in Strategic Thinking, Continuous Improvement and Creativity and Innovation. His first book 'Hidden Gold', published by SAI Global (Standard Australia), is described as a definitive work on continuous process improvement.
Prior to forming his own company in 1991, Bill was a member of the executive team of an Information Technology unit with 1800 people, and led the introduction of change using a Continuous Improvement philosophy that over eighteen months dramatically improved service quality and significantly reduced costs to clients. Prior to this, Bill held senior roles in Human Resources, Finance, Facilities Management, Security, and Computer Operations.
Since creating Mindwerx in 1998, Bill has worked with clients in more than ten countries. This includes delivering Creative Problem Solving workshops in Asia, and keynote addresses on Creative Thinking at conferences throughout Australasia, USA and UK.
For more than a decade, Bill was the convenor/lecturer of the Creativity & Innovation module of the Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MEI) program run by Swinburne University-AGSE.
Bill was also a regular visitor to Israel where between 2000 and 2008 he ran the week long Creativity and Innovation module of the Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MEI) program run by ISEMI - the Israeli School for Entrepreneurial Management and Innovation (under license from Swinburne University).
He is also a guest lecturer for the University of Ballarat’s MBA - Creativity & Innovation program which he has run in Hong Kong and Ballarat, and with the under-graduate program at RMIT University. He also designed and facilitates a fully online program on Deliberate Creativity & Innovation for the University of Southern Maine (USA).
Bill is a skilled and dynamic educator/presenter, and will enthusiastically facilitate change in your organisation.
An accomplished trainer/facilitator in Deliberate Creative Thinking™ Bill is one of only a handful of people in Australia accredited by the de Bono Institute to present de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats, Lateral Thinking, and Direct Attention Thinking Tools (DATT) programs. He is also a senior instructor in Tony Buzan's Mind Mapping® techniques and a Founding Director of the Buzan Centre in Australia.
Bill is an active participant in the world of Creativity, Continuous Improvement and Innovation, and has spoken on these subjects in many private and public forums. In 2003 he founded the Creativity Exchange Network in Australia, which has more than 200 members sharing information that advances creative thinking.
Bill was an Accredited Speaking Member (ASM) with the National Speakers Association, is a graduate of the Australian Graduate School of Management, and a Fellow of the Williamson Community Leadership Program. Bill was also a member of the Committee for Melbourne, before moving to the Gold Coast.
A Master of Entrepreneurship & Innovation
Just to keep life interesting in mid 2006 Bill also completed his Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Swinburne University-AGSE, which he did in less than two years.
