3RD SECRET: GO META ON THE MAGICAL BEAST!
As long as Mel is caught up in looping through from confusion to frustration, there is very little that we teachers can do. Or is there?

Try this:

  1. Arrange a private space for Mel and your self.
  2. Invite Mel to join you in your virtual helicopter. Ensure that you set the copter to whisper mode.
  3. Rise up into the air, high enough so that Mel can see, hear and feel what is occurring in the classroom....

 

2ND SECRET: IS FRUSTRATION A STUCK STATE?
